Strategic Consulting

The strategic consulting service offerings provide customers both business and technical guidance for the adoption and integration of Microsoft based solutions in the areas outlined.

Full project delivery of system implementations can be, and is usually, provided. This covers full system implementation capabilities including project and/or programme management.

We aim to provide the ‘best’ in terms of quality, measurable value and business ethics. We achieve this by delivering exceptional, predictable, sustainable and measurable results with our best practice solutions, which can be tailored uniquely to suit any business or organisation.

Fidra provide fast, agile and reliable strategic consulting with supporting technical services around technical project delivery to both commercial and public sector organisations throughout the UK.

Fidra focus on specific technology and business areas where we have deep knowledge and understanding. We will not dilute the value to our customers by engaging in work for which we do not have a measurable differentiator. We have a network of Partner organisations that we know and trust to deliver in areas outside our core competence. However, it is also our intention to continually push the boundaries of our knowledge, especially when new or upgraded technologies become available.

Business Value Planning

We work closely with clients to develop strategies that can measurably transform their business operations by increasing the use of existing information assets. This measurable transformation will be achieved by Fidra’s world-class expertise, our significant experience with existing technology platforms and our early exposure to Microsoft’s emerging products.

Solution Architecture

As individuals, we have provided Microsoft based collaboration and business intelligence solutions for organisations of all sizes and in many parts of the world. As part of our engagement methodology, we have experienced people who are able to provide initial guidance or full architectural design and implementation services.

Application Lifecycle Management

Based on Agile principles, this is Fidra's practice based process improvement for software development. The service offering is specifically targeted at existing teams of software professionals who are looking to move their development practices to an Agile Development methodology.

This methodology allows teams to identify, prepare and assemble a set of suitable practices and related tools that will support the on-going improvement of software development process within their organisation.

The approach facilitates the introduction of new practices individually, gradually and as needed. It preserves the things the team does well while addressing the issues needing attention.

SharePoint Deployment Planning Services

Depending upon your licensing arrangement with Microsoft, Fidra can provide SharePoint Deployment Planning Services (SDPS) and Microsoft will pay for up to 15 days of consultancy as a benefit of your Software Assurance.

The success, or otherwise, of any IT project usually depends upon the quality of planning that takes place prior to the implementation starting, SharePoint is an especially good case in point as it has such a wide range of capabilities. Therefore, Fidra offer a range of SharePoint Planning Services, from 1 day through to 15 day engagements depending upon the size of the project in question.

These SharePoint Planning engagements illustrate the types of deliverables that can be produced by each engagement type/duration. However, these sessions don’t have to be prescriptive; we can be very flexible and will tailor each engagement to any individual customer’s specific requirements.

For example, sometimes the first deliverable that is required is a Detailed Requirements Analysis to allow us to estimate the total size of any project in terms of resources and timescales required to allow a successful project delivery. This can also dictate the size and number of phases there needs to be in the project and can often result in a "go" or "no go" decision being taken.
